Understanding Our Refund and Withdrawal Policy

National Institute for Health Technology (NIHT)

The following policy governs all enrollment, payments, refunds, and financial obligations for NIHT training programs, including the Sleep Technology Essentials – 80-Hour Certificate Program (BRPT STAR Approved – Focused 2).

By enrolling, submitting payment, or accessing any program materials, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Non-Refundable Enrollment Deposit

A $500 enrollment deposit is required to reserve your seat and is non-refundable under all circumstances, including:

  • Change of plans
  • Scheduling conflicts
  • Financial hardship
  • Failure to complete the program
  • Certification or licensure outcomes

This deposit covers administrative processing, onboarding, and seat reservation.

2. 3-Day Limited Refund Window (Pre-Access Only)

Students may request a refund within three (3) business days of initial enrollment ONLY IF:

  • No online access has been granted
  • No course materials have been viewed, opened, or downloaded
  • No physical materials have been shipped

If eligible:

  • Tuition will be refunded minus a $183 administrative fee
  • The $500 enrollment deposit remains non-refundable

3. Digital Access = No Refund (Strict Policy)

Once access is granted to any portion of the program, including:

  • Online modules
  • Videos or recorded lectures
  • Quizzes or exams
  • Downloadable materials

👉 ALL PAYMENTS BECOME IMMEDIATELY NON-REFUNDABLE

This applies regardless of:

  • Whether materials were viewed
  • Level of participation
  • Personal, medical, or employment circumstances

Access alone constitutes delivery of proprietary educational content.

4. Sleep Tech Starter Kit (Physical Materials)

If a Sleep Tech Kit has been shipped:

  • Items may be returned unused and unopened within 7 days of delivery
  • Return shipping is the responsibility of the student
  • A restocking fee may apply
  • Opened or used items are not eligible for refund

5. Payment Plans (Full Financial Responsibility)

Students enrolled in payment plans:

  • Are fully responsible for the entire tuition balance
  • Agree that payment obligations remain in effect regardless of participation or completion

Failure to complete payments:

  • Does not cancel enrollment
  • Does not qualify for a refund

NIHT reserves the right to:

  • Withhold certificates, transcripts, and clinical scheduling
  • Deny continued access to services
  • Pursue collections where permitted by law

6. Clinical Training & Scheduling
  • Clinical training is scheduled after program requirements are met
  • Scheduling is subject to site availability and third-party coordination

The following are not grounds for a refund:

  • Delays in scheduling
  • Travel or lodging expenses
  • Personal conflicts or availability

7. Transfers & Deferrals

At NIHT’s discretion, students may request:

  • Transfer to a future cohort
  • Temporary deferral

Approval:

  • Is not guaranteed
  • May include administrative fees

Transfers or deferrals do not qualify for refunds and do not reset refund eligibility

8. Failure to Complete Program

No refunds will be issued for:

  • Failure to complete coursework
  • Failure to attend clinical training
  • Failure to pass exams
  • Personal scheduling conflicts

9. Certification & Employment Disclaimer

NIHT provides training designed to prepare students for certification exams such as CPSGT or RPSGT.

NIHT does not guarantee:

  • Certification or exam passage
  • Licensure approval in any state
  • Employment placement

Certification requirements are governed by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.

10. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Students agree to contact NIHT directly to resolve any concerns prior to initiating a dispute.

By enrolling, the student acknowledges:

  • This is a contractual agreement for educational services
  • Digital content is delivered upon access

Unauthorized chargebacks or disputes may result in:

  • Immediate program termination
  • Revocation of access to all materials
  • Ineligibility for future enrollment
  • Collection efforts for outstanding balances
  • Administrative and legal recovery actions where applicable

11. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be:

  • Issued to the original payment method
  • Processed within 7–14 business days

Important:

  • Third-party processing fees (e.g., Stripe, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay) are non-refundable
  • These fees will be deducted from any eligible refund

12. Policy Acknowledgment

By enrolling and/or accessing any program materials, the student:

  • Confirms they have read and understood this policy
  • Accepts all terms and conditions
  • Acknowledges that access constitutes services rendered

13. Policy Revisions

NIHT reserves the right to modify this policy at any time.

The most current version published on www.myniht.com shall govern all enrollments.

Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any updates.
